COUNT  நூலின் தடிமனைக் குறிக்கும் எண்  

Yarn count is a number which expresses the size of yarn.

There are two methods of expressing yarn count.  They are direct system and indirect system.

நூலின் எண்ணைக்  குறிக்கும் இரு முறைகள் நேரடி முறை, மறைமுக முறை .

DIRECT SYSTEM(Fixed length system)

Here, higher the number coarser is the yarn. Lower the number , finer is the yarn.

Ex; Tex count, Denier count.

நேரடி முறையில் சிறிய எண மெல்லிய நூலையும்  பெரிய எண்  தடித்த நூலையும் குறிக்கின்றன .  உ-ம்  டெக்ஸ் கவுண்ட் , டீனியர்  கவுண்ட் /
Tex count :

Tex count is defined as the weight in grams of 1000 metre of yarn.

If 1000 m of yarn weighs 1 gram, the yarn count is 1s Tex..

If 1000 m of yarn weighs 2 grams, the yarn count is 2s. Tex and so on.

Denier count:

Denier  count is defined as the weight in grams of 9000 metre of yarn.

If 9000 m of yarn weighs 1 gram, the yarn count is 1s Denier..

If 9000 m of yarn weighs 2 grams, the yarn count is 2s.Denier and so on.


INDIRECT SYSTEM(Fixed weight system)

Here, higher the number finer is the yarn. Lower the number , coarser is the yarn.

Ex; English count, Metric count,  French count..
